Week 12 Notes

Headlines:

FUBAR Sets New Undefeated Streak Record  –  Blues Go 3-0  –  Welcome to FIC

FUBAR 4  Warriors 2  –  FUBAR won the first game at our new location and set a new record for an undefeated streak.  Mike Hossack scored a pair of goals for FUBAR, while Shawn Kane and James Morrison added singles.  Ray Chase and Denis Loubert scored the Warriors’ goals.

FUBAR 6  Barrage 4  –  FUBAR extended they undefeated record to 19 games with back to back wins.  Mike Hossack led the way for FUBAR with four goals, while Ian Stevens and Shawn Kane added singles.  Wayne Helpard scored a pair of goals for the Barrage, while Marc Guitard and Carl Brown added singles.

Warriors 6  Fog Devils 5  –  The Warriors won a close game against the Fog Devils.  Jon Loubert scored a pair of goals for the Warriors, while Troy Doyle, Ray Chase, Denis Loubert, and Brian Kelly each added singles.  Collin Sleep scored a hat-trick for the Fog Devils, while Davie Mossman and spare, Mark Cress added singles.

Barrage 7  Warriors 5  –  The Barrage got a much needed win against the Warriors on the strength of Marc Guitard’s hat-trick.  Jamie Carson also added  a pair of goals for the Barrage, while Carl Brown and Wayne Helpard added singles.  Troy Doyle scored a pair of goals for the Warriors, while Jon Loubert, Denis Loubert, and Brian Kelly added singles.

Fog Devils 5  FUBAR 4  –  The Fog Devils finally ended FUBAR’s undefeated streak at 19 games with the close win.  Collin Sleep and Derek Brown each scored a pair of goals for the Fog Devils, while spare, Mark Cress added a single.  Spare, Chris Day became only the 2nd goalie to beat FUBAR this seaosn.  Mike Hossack scored a pair of goals for FUBAR, including his 50th of the season, while Ian Stevens and Shawn Kane added singles.

Fog Devils 8  Barrage 4  –  The Fog Devils finish their day with a convincing 8-4 win over the Barrage.  James Campbell, Derek Brown, and Davie Mossman each scored a pair of goals for the Fog Devils, while Collin Sleep and Mike Sutton added singles.  Wayne Helpard scored a pair of goals for the Barrage, while Jamie Carson and Carl Brown added singles.

Unicorns 8  Shooters 6  –  The Unicorns got off to a good start this past Sunday on the strength of Brent McKenna’s four goals and Greg Geurts’ hat-trick.  Craig Maranda scored the other Unicorns’ goal.
Bobby Woods and Martin MacKinnon each scored a pair of goals for the Shooters, while Jeremy Snow, and Yvon Mayer added singles.

Vipers 10  Unicorns 7  –  The Vipers got off to a good start led by Darryl Moorcroft’s four goals and Jim Taylor’s hat-trick.  Brian Letcher, Wyatt Ashworth, and Art McCoy also scored for the Vipers.  Brent McKenna scored a hat-trick for the Unicorns, while Craig Maranda had a pair of goals, and Greg Geurts and Trevor Graham added singles.

Vipers 6  Shooters 4  –  Darryl Moorcroft’s second consecutive four goal game leads the way for the Vipers 2nd win of the day.  Wyatt Ashworth scored the other Vipers goals.  Bobby Woods scored a pair of goals for the Shooters, while Doug Taylor and Martin MacKinnon added singles.

Shooters 9  Unicorns 4  –  The Shooters bounced back in the rematch against the Unicorns led by Bobby Wood’s hat-trick.  Jeremy Snow and Martin MacKinnon each scored a pair of goals for the Shooters, while Doug Taylor and Yvon Mayer added singles.  Jeremy earned 7 first assists in the game, while Bobby added 5 second assists.  Greg Geurts and Brent McKenna each scored a pair of goals for the Unicorns.

Collective 6  Smokin’ Aces 5  –  The Collective got off to a quick start and hung onto the close win.  Mike Clarke led the way for the Collective scoring five goals, while Rick Bartlett added a single.  Stephen Rafuse scored a pair of goals for the Smokin’ Aces, while Tim O’Leary, Vince MacDonald, and Chris Benoit added singles.

Blues 7  Vipers 3  –  The Blues cooled off the Vipers and got off to a good start.  Mike Moore, Andrew Trecartin, and Justin McKillop each scored a pair of goals for the Blues, while Jamie Williams added a single.  Darryl Moorcroft, Wyatt Ashworth, and Rene Pitre scored the Vipers goals.

Blues 5  Smokin’ Aces 2  –  The Blues took over 2nd place with back to back wins.  Mike Moore and Jamie Williams each scored a pair of goals for the Blues, while Anthony Crawford added a single.  Tim O’Leary and Tyson Taylor scored the Smokin’ Aces goals.

Smokin’ Aces 11  Collective 4  –  The Smokin’ Aces finished on a high note with lots of offense.  Stephen Rafuse led the way for the Aces with four goals, while Tim O”leary had a hat-trick.  Tyson Taylor and Vince MacDonald also each added a pair of goals.  Mike Clarke Scored a pair of goals for the Collective, while Rick Bartlett and Mike Luff added singles.

Blues 8  Collective 4  –  The Blues are the only team to finish the day 3-0 with a convincing win over the Collective.  Jamie Williams led the way with a hat-trick, while Justin McKillop scored a pair of goals, and Mike Moore, Andrew Trecartin, and Mike Connor added singles.  Mike Clarke scored a pair of goals, including his 50th of the season for the Collective, while Rick Haines and Mike Luff added singles.

This week’s three stars picked by me.  Tough decisions this week.

1st Star  –  Darryl Moorcroft  –  led his team with 9 goals and 13 points.  His back to back four goal games were key to the Vipers going 2-1 this week.

2nd Star  –  Collin Sleep  –  led his team with 6 goals and 12 points.  He scored a pair of goals against FUBAR to stop their undefeated streak and the Fog Devils went 2-1 this week.

3rd Star  –  Brandon Leet-MacFarlane  –  Allowed only 9 goals while back-stopping the Blues to a 3-0 week.

Honorable Mentions  –  Bobby Woods had 7 goals and 14 points despite the Shooters going 1-2 this week.  Also team-mate Jeremy Snow had 3 goals and led all scorers with 15 points.  Mike Hossack scored 8 goals and 10 points, including a four goal game, helping FUBAR to a 2-1 record this week.  Mike Moore, Andrew Trecartin, and Justin Mckillop all had 10 or more points to help the Blues go 3-0.  Mike Clarke had 9 goals and 11 points, including a five goal game in a close Collective win.  Greg Geurts scored 6 goals and 12 points and Brent McKenna had 9 goals, including a four goal game, and 10 points as the Unicorns went 1-2 this week.
