Week 17 Notes

Headlines:

Blues, Warriors Go 3-0             FUBAR Go 2-1            Seven Teams Go 1-2

Blues 6  Barrage 4  –  The Blues got off to a good start this past week with a win over the Barrage.  Jamie Williams led the way for the Blues with a hat-trick, while Mike Moore, Andrew Trecartin, and Justin McKillop added singles.  Mark Guitard scored a pair of goals for the Barrage, while Jamie Carson and Wayne Helpard added singles.

Blues 7  Shooters 4  –  The Blues kept on rolling with a win over the Shooters.  Mike Moore, Jamie Williams, and Justin McKillop each scored a pair of goals for the Blues, while Andrew Trecartin added a single.  Bobby Woods, Doug Taylor, Mathieu Vaillancourt, and Rob Matchette scored the Shooters goals.

Collective 7  Barrage 6  –  The Collective hung on for the close win over the Barrage, ending their winless streak at 11 games.  Mike Clarke led the way for the Collective with a hat-trick, while Rick Haines scored a pair of goals, and Rick Bartlett and Mike Luff added singles.  Marc Guitard led the way for the Barrage with a hat-trick, while Wayne Helpard scored a pair of goals and Jamie Carson added a single.

Blues 8  Collective 4  –  The Blues complete the 3-0 week with a convincing win over the Collective.  Andrew Trecartin led the way for the Blues with a hat-trick, while Mike Moore and Mike Connor each scored a pair of goals, and Justin McKillop added a single.  Mike Clarke scored a pair of goals for the Collective, while Mike Luff and spare Darryl Moorcroft added singles.

Barrage 6  Shooters 4  –  The Barrage rebounded from their earlier game with a win over the Shooters.  Carl Brown led the way for the Barrage with a hat-trick, while Marc Guitard scored a pair of goals and Jamie Carson added a single.  Yvon Mayer scored a pair of goals for the Shooters, while Bobby Woods and Rob Matchette added singles.

Shooters 9  Collective 5  –  The Shooters got the win over the Collective to stay within two points in the standings.  Rob Matchette led the way for the Shooters with 5 goals, while Bobby Woods scored a pair, and Doug Taylor and Yvon Mayer added singles.  Rick Haines and Mike Luff each scored a pair of goals for the Collective, while Mike Clarke added a single.

Vipers 4  Fog Devils 2  –  The Vipers got off to a good start and held on for the low scoring win over the Fog Devils.  Wyatt Ashworth scored a pair of goals for the Vipers, while Darryl Moorcroft and Art McCoy added singles.  Collin Sleep and Derek Brown scored the Fog Devils goals.

Warriors 5  Vipers 1  –  The Warriors began this past week with a win over the Vipers.  Jon Loubert led the way for the Warriors with a hat-trick, while Denis Loubert and Brian Kelly added singles.  Darryl Moorcroft scored the only Vipers goal to spoil spare Chris Day’s shutout.

Warriors 7  Fog Devils 4  –  The Warriors continued with another win, this time against the Fog Devils.  Ray Chase led the way for the Warriors with 5 goals, while Denis Loubert and spare Scott McLean added singles.  Collin Sleep and Ian Lapointe each scored a pair of goals for the Fog Devils.

Fog Devils 6  Vipers 4  –  The Fog Devils rebounded for the win in the rematch against the Vipers.  Ian Lapointe scored a pair of goals for the Fog Devils, while Collin Sleep, Derek Brown, Davie Mossman, and spare Mark Cress added singles.  Wyatt Ashworth and Bryan Letcher each scored a pair of goals for the Vipers.

Unicorns 10  Smokin’ Aces 8  –  The Unicorns outlasted the Smokin’ Aces for the win in their first game this past week.  Greg Geurts and Craig Maranda led the way for the Unicorns each with hat-tricks, while Brent McKenna and Steve Atherton each scored a pair of goals.  Tim O’Leary led the way for the Smokin’ Aces with a hat-trick, while Vince MacDonald scored a pair of goals, and Stephen Rafuse, Tyson Taylor, and Chris Benoit added singles.

Warriors 5  FUBAR 2  –  The Warriors complete the 3-0 week with a win over FUBAR.  Ray Chase led the way for the Warriors with a hat-trick, while Jon and Denis Loubert also added goals.  Ian Stevens scored both FUBAR goals.

FUBAR 5  Smokin’ Aces 3  –  FUBAR rebounded in their next game with a win over the Smokin’ Aces.  Shawn Kane led the way for FUBAR with a hat-trick, while Ian Stevens and Mike Hossack also added goals.  Tim O’Leary, Tyson Taylor, and Larry Condly scored the Smokin’ Aces goals.

Smokin’ Aces 9  Unicorns 6  –  The Smokin’ Aces rebounded in their rematch against the Unicorns.  Tyson Taylor led the way for the Smokin’ Aces with 5 goals, while Tim O’Leary scored a hat-trick and Chris Benoit added a single.  Brent McKenna led the way for the Unicorns with 4 goals, while Greg Geurts and Craig Maranda added singles.

FUBAR 10  Unicorns 5  –  FUBAR doubled up with a win against the Unicorns to finish the day.  Mike Hossack led the way for FUBAR with 6 goals, while Ian Stevens, Shawn Kane, Mark Whitlock, and James Morrison added singles.  Craig Maranda scored a hat-trick for the Unicorns, while Greg Geurts and Steve Atherton also scored.

This week’s 3 stars picked by me.

1st Star – Ray Chase  –  Scored the most goals this week with 8 on his way to 13 points and led his team to a 3-0 record.

2nd Star – Mike Hossack  –  Led his team this week with 7 goals and 13 points, including a six goal game.

3rd Star – Chris Day  –  As a spare goalie, went 3-0 while only allowing 7 goals.

Honorable Mentions:  Greg Geurts had 5 goals and 13 points.  Tim O’Leary and Tyson Taylor each scored 7 goals and 12 points.  Mike Clarke had 6 goals and 11 points.  Marc Guitard had 7 goals and 10 points.
