Our 10th season has begun. Here’s how the first week went.

Good Turnout for Week One
Sasquatches Start 3-0
Rick Kent – Shutout In Debut
Blues 8 Brent’s Team 1 – The Blues got rolling quickly in the season’s debut and cruised to an 8-1 win over Brent’s team. Blues’ captain, Andrew Trecartin got things rolling with two quick goals in the first couple of minutes. His 2nd goal proved to be the winner. Tyson Taylor and Jeremy Snow also each added a pair of goals for the Blues, while Ben Warren and Bruno Dugas added singles. Brent McKenna scored the only goal for Brent’s team to spoil Jeff Smith’s shutout bid.
Flying Elbows 10 Brent’s Team 3 – The Flying Elbows built a four goal lead early and cruised to a 10-3 win over Brent’s team. Tim O’Leary and Troy Doyle each scored hat-tricks to lead the way for the Flying Elbows, while Justin Mckillop added a pair of goals, and Travis Muxworthy and Jamie Williams added singles. Matthew Vautour scored a pair of goals for Brent’s team, while Brent McKenna added a single. Troy Doyle’s 2nd goal proved to be the winner.
Sasquatches 3 Blues 0 – The Sasquatches built a 2-0 lead earlier on and held on for the 3-0 win over the Blues. New goalie, Rick Kent and captain Mark Guitard led the way for the Sasquatches. Rick earned a shutout in his first game, setting a new record for the quickest shutout earned by a goalie in the league. Scott Shepard held the previous record as a back up goalie with the Collective during our 2nd season. Marc completed the hat-trick in the final minute of the game to take care of the offense, which included the winning goal.
Sasquatches 6 Brent’s Team 2 – The Sasquatches got an early lead but Brent’s team scored a couple of goals to go ahead and held the lead well into the 2nd half of the game, until the Sasquatches scored five unanswered goals in the final 8 minutes for a 6-2 win. Bobby Woods scored a pair of goals for the Sasquatches, while Sean Keenan, Bryan Letcher, Darren Wilkins, and Marc Guitard added singles. Bryan scored, what proved to be the winning goal. Mathieu Vaillancourt scored both goals for Brent’s team, who got off to a rough start during week one having to play without a couple of key players.
Flying Elbows 6 Blues 2 – The Blues started and finished the scoring but the Flying Elbows did the scoring inbetween on their way to a 6-2 win. Jamie Williams led the way for the Flying Elbows with a hat-trick, including the winning goal, while Justin McKillop added a pair of goals and Troy Doyle scored a single. Bruno Dugas and Ian Lapointe scored the Blues goals.
Sasquatches 4 Flying Elbows 2 – The Flying Elbows built an early 2-1 lead but the Sasquatches scored three straight goals to win 4-2. Bobby Woods scored a pair of goals for the Sasquatches, while Sean Keenan and Darren Wilkins added singles. Darren scored the winning goal. Troy Doyle scored both Flying Elbows goals.
Warriors 2 Shooters 2 – The Warriors and Shooters game featured the top two goalies drafted and fittingly ended in a 2-2 deadlock. The Warriors’ Denis Loubert started the scoring but Chris Benoit quickly tied the game for the Shooters. Phil Cronkite scored the go ahead goal for the Warriors, but again the Shooters countered and got the tying goal from Mike Doucette.
Shooters 3 Barrage 3 – The Shooters built a 3-0 lead but the Barrage managed the comeback scoring the next 3 goals, ending in a 3-3 tie. Rob Matchett scored a pair of goals for the Shooters, while Mike Doucette added a single. Collin Sleep, Wyatt Ashworth, and Craig Maranda each scored for the Barrage.
Warriors 4 Collective 0 – The Warriors built a comfortable lead and hung on for the shutout win over the Collective. Tony Bonnar led the way for the Warriors earning the shutout, while Larry Condly scored the winning goal. Jon Loubert, Mike Luff, and Denis Loubert also scored for the Warriors.
Collective 3 Shooters 2 – The Collective scored a late goal to edge the Shooters 3-2. Jim Taylor scored a pair of goals for the Collective, including a winning goal in the last minute of the game. Mike Connor scored the other Collective goal. Harold Plante scored both Shooters goals.
Warriors 4 Barrage 4 – The Warriors taking the lead and the Barrage tying it was the story of this game. They traded goals all the way to a 4-4 tie. Denis Loubert led the way for the Warriors with a hat-trick, while Jon Loubert added a single. Collin Sleep and Craig Maranda each scored a pair of goals for the Barrage.
Collective 7 Barrage 4 – The Collective got off to a good start, building a 3-0 lead and hanging on for the 7-4 win. Mike Moore led the way for the Collective with a hat-trick, while Carl Brown added a pair of goals, and Jim Taylor and Mike Connor scored singles. Jim’s goal proved to be the game winner, his 2nd of the day.
