Cooler Mornings, Shorter days, and the realization that soon enough, it’s game time!

A ten year old league filled with some of the most talented ball hockey players in the province, Freddy Ball Hockey is gearing up for season number 11. With new leadership in place, Jamie Carson and the rest of the FBHL committee have been working hard this offseason to help usher in a new decade to a league well versed in longevity. With players from all over the Capitol region, and a blend of young and old, the FBHL brings to Fredericton something no other sport can. A mix of people and talent so diverse, but yet accepted to play.

This year we relocate, again, but with hopes for the last time. With a new found “HOME” at the Marysville Sports Complex, (the old Alexander Gibson Memorial School), we have a legitimate answer to the space we have been looking for. Its size and facilities, and the commitment from the ownership group, show us that a lasting relationship can be developed. With a new floor coming and even space for “fans”, this facility gives us the opportunity to showcase to Fredericton the true intensity, and quality of our sport. To fill this new home, the players are back! With a mix of “Veterans” and “Rookies”, “Old” faces and “New”, this year’s registrant board is a mixture of long standing staples, returning players, and new bodies. Filled with champions past, Summer MVP’s, top goalies, and scoring champs, this year’s lineup is a who’s who in Fredericton Ball hockey.

For some of us, it may even be a “Who’s that”, with a great rookie listing thus far. Guaranteed there will be no shortage of talent in the true FBHL! So as the countdown begins to draft day, then game day, players gear up for what should be a truly entertaining, and hopefully record filling year, of great plays, saves, wins and losses. Every Sunday from now until April will bring us one step closer to crowning a new FBHL Champion!
