After five weeks, some teams are starting to settle in. So far, the Silverbacks are proving to be the team to beat having gone unbeaten through the first four weeks. However Purple Reign was up to the task this past week by giving the Silverbacks their first loss in shutout fashion (2-0). Purple Reign sits in second with the the Mighty Whities and the Average Joes trailing by 1 & 2 pts respectively, making the race for 2nd place very tight.
It is still early season, with many new players and a new facility to adjust to. Not surprisingly, many of the usual suspects sit among the top 10 in scoring, however, there are two rookies making a name for themselves in Danny Lowe and Justin Manzer, tied for ninth in scoring with 23 points. Two rookie goalies are also making names for themselves in Ben Berger and Tim Tremblay, so the race for rookie of the year should be a good one.
With bad weather coming this weekend and winter not far off, it serves as a reminder to everyone to always check the website for an potential cancellation notices that may occur on game days. Cancellation announcements are usually made late morning on Sundays.
