Scott Shepard Starts Again With SO in the First Week

 

FUBAR (3 0 0  22  8  6)

FUBAR got off to a good start, led by Ian Stevens and Shawn Kane, both scoring hat-tricks in the 7-4 win over the Shooters.  Peter Wolters added the other FUBAR goal.  They’re 2nd game ended with another 7-4 win over the Collective.  Peter led the way with a hat-trick, while Ian had a pair of goals.  Mark Whitlock and Mike Hossack also scored for FUBAR.  Scott Shepard led the way in their final game, earning an 8-0 shutout, becoming the only goalie to earn a shutout in the first week of two separate seasons.  He did the same thing the last time he started a season.  That time he earned shutouts in 4 consecutive weeks, which is a record.  Ian led the way offensively with four goals in the game, while Mike added a pair of goals.  James Morrison and Mark also added goals.  Ian led his team this week with 9 goals and 12 points.

THE GREY (2 1 0 25 15  4)

The Grey came out flying in their first game with a convincing 11-2 win over the Vipers.  Ian Lapointe led the way for the Grey with a four goal game.  Matt Orford also added a hat-trick, while Collin Sleep had a pair of goals, and Derek Brown and Davie Mossman added singles.  Collin exploded with 5 goals in their 2nd game, leading to an 8-6 win.  Matt also added a pair of goals, while Ian added a single.  The Grey finished the day with a disappointing 6-7 loss to the Collective.  Collin scored a hat-trick for the Grey, while Ian scored a pair of goals, and James Campbell added a single.  Collin led his team this week with 10 goals and 15 points.

VIPERS  (2 1 0  16 20  4)

The Vipers got off to a good start with a 7-3 victory over the Unicorns.  Art McCoy led the way with a hat-trick, while Travis Haines added a pair of goals.  Jim Taylor and Wyatt Ashworth added singles.  Things went downhill during their 2nd game and they lost 2-11 to the Grey.  Rene Pitre and Jim scored the goals for the Vipers.  They turned things around in their final game with a 7-6 win in their rematch against the Unicorns.  Jim had a pair of goals for the Vipers, while Bryan Letcher, Kevin Gallant, Art, Wyatt, and Rene all had singles.  Kevin’s was the winning goal.  Art and Jim led their team this week with 4 goals and 8 points.

WARRIORS  (1 0 2  17 12  4)

The Warriors began their season with a 3-3 tie against the Smokin’ Aces.  Troy Doyle, Ray Chase, and Jon Loubert were the goalscorers for the Warriors.  They found lots of offense in their 2nd game on the strength of Troy and Ray’s four goal games.  Brian Kelly and Jon added singles in the 10-5 win over the Barrage.  They finished the first week with a 4-4 tie against the Blues.  Troy had a pair of goals for the Warriors, while Ray and Jon added singles.  The Warriors were the only other team besides FUBAR to go undefeated this week.  Troy led his team this week with 7 goals and 12 points.

SMOKIN’ ACES  (1 1 1  17 15  3)

The Aces began their season with a 3-3 tie against the Warriors.  Tim O’Leary, Stephen Rafuse, and Justin Robichaud (spare) scored the Aces’ goals.  Their offense exploded in their 2nd game with an 11-3 win over the Blues.  Vince MacDonald led the way with four goals, while Tim and Stephen both had hat-tricks.  Tyson Taylor scored the other Aces goal.  They had a rough finish to their day with a 3-9 loss to the Barrage.  Tim scored a pair of goals for the Aces, while Stephen added a single.  Tim led his team this week with 6 goals and 10 points.

BARRAGE (1 1 1  18 17  3)

The Barrage started the season playing to a 4-4 tie against the Blues.  Marc Guitard led the way for the Barrage with a hat-trick.  Jamie Carson scored the other Barrage goal.  Despite Marc scoring four goals, they lost their 2nd game by a 5-10 score to the Warriors.  Carl Brown scored the other Barrage goal.  They turned things around in their final game of the day with a 9-3 win over the Smokin’ Aces.  Marc led the way for the Barrage with 5 goals, while Carl added a hat-trick and Jamie also scored.  Marc led his team this week with 12 goals and 18 points.

COLLECTIVE  (1 1 1  18 20  3)

The Collective won a tight 7-6 game against the Grey to start their season.  Rod MacIsaac, Mike Clarke, and Rick Bartlett each scored twice for the Collective, while MIke Luff added a single.  They got behind early in their 2nd game and couldn’t recover, losing 4-7 to FUBAR,  Rod scored a hat-trick for the Collective, while Rick Haines added a single.  Their day finished with a tough 7-7 tie.  Mike Clarke led the way for the Collective with a hat-trick, while Rick Bartlett also added a pair of goals.  Rick Haines and Rod added singles.  Rod led his team this week with 6 goals, while Rod, Rick Bartlett, Mike, and Mike each had 9 points.

BLUES  (0 1 2  11 19  2)

The Blues got off to a rough start losing their first game 3-11 to the Smokin’ Aces.  Jamie Williams scored a couple of goals for the Blues, while Gerry Heffernan added a single.  The Blues fought to a 4-4 tie against the Barrage in their next game.  Andrew Trecartin and Mike Moore each scored a pair of goals for the Blues.  They finished their day off with another 4-4 tie, this time against the Warriors.  Mike scored a pair of goals for the Blues, while Andrew added a single.  Their spare, Justin Robichaud also scored a goal for the Blues.  Mike led his team this week with 4 goals, while Andrew had 7 points.

SHOOTERS  (0 2 1  11 22  1)

The Shooters started the season with a 4-7 loss to FUBAR.  Doug Taylor scored a pair of goals for the Shooters, while Bobby Woods and Yvon Mayer added singles.  They couldn’t find a way to beat Scott Shepard in their rematch and lost 0-8 to FUBAR  They finished their first week with a tight 7-7 tie against the Collective.  John Hamilton robbed (no pun intended) Rob MacIsaac in the dying seconds of the game to preserve the tie.  Mathieu Vaillancourt led the way for the Shooters with a hat-trick, with Doug and Bobby each adding a pair of goals.  Doug led his team this week with 4 goals and 8 points.

UNICORNS  (0 3 0  15 22  0)

The Unicorns got off to a rough start, losing their first game 3-7 to the Vipers.  Brent McKenna, Bruno Dugas, and Craig Maranda scored the Unicorns’ goals. They lost their next game 6-8 to the Grey.  Brent and Craig each scored a pair of goals, while Greg Geurts and Bruno added singles.  They lost a heart-breaker in their final game of the day with a 6-7 loss to the Vipers in their rematch.  Bruno and Greg each scored a pair of goals, while Brent and Craig added singles.  Brent, Bruno, and Craig led their team this week, each scoring 4 goals, while Greg Geurts had 7 points.
