Sorry for the late notice, but it takes a long time to make a change like this.
All games will now be played at the Priestman St. school between 1:00 and 8:00 pm.
Park St.’s gym was not as big as advertised. The floor was the “rubberized” kind which made shooting and stick handling difficult as its sticky (Also easier to stick and roll ankles). Many of the positives that Park St. gym offered ended up not occuring (no place to watch, store nets, things hanging in gym, no clock, etc).
We recognize that Priestman St. school gym is not that much bigger, but the floor is better, and it will be easier to manage nets, etc. Plus, having all the games at one place makes the administration much easier. We are monitoring the situation, and the city has mentioned that more school gyms may become available. We will continue to look for something better.
