Warriors 3 Big D 2 – After a tight game, the Warriors emerged with a 3-2 win over the Big D. Larry scored a pair of goals for the Warriors, including his 2nd winning goal of the season, while Mike Clarke also scored. Jeremy Snow and Ian Lapointe scored the Big D goals.
Baton Rouge 8 Big D 2 – Baton Rouge took over the game midway through with six unanswered goals for an 8-2 win over the Big D. Ray Chase led the Baton Rouge with a hat-trick, while Sly Villeneuve and Matt Vautour each added a pair of goals, and Brent McKenna scored the winner to break a 2-2 tie. Ben Warren and Ian Lapointe scored the Big D goals.
Collective 7 Warriors 1 – After being shutout by the Warriors in the first week, the Collective scored soon after the opening face-off and built a 5-0 lead, cruising to a 7-1 over the Warriors in the rematch. Jim Taylor, Rick Bartlett, and Carl Brown each scored a pair of goals for the Collective, while Mike Connor added a single. Rick’s first goal of the season, which deflected in off his arm, turned out to be the winner. Denis Loubert scored the only Warriors’ goal to spoil Mark Farrell shutout bid.
Big D 4 Collective 3 – The Big D got off to a quick start and after building a 4-1 lead, hung on for the 4-3 win over the Collective. Andrew Trecartin led the Big D with a hat-trick, while Rakesh Rajput added the winning goal. Rick Haines, Mike Moore, and Jim Taylor scored the Collective goals.
Baton Rouge 8 Warriors 1 – Baton Rouge continued to roll along and scored another 8 goals on their way to an 8-1 over the Warriors. Brent McKenna led the way for Baton Rouge with four goals, while Sly Villeneuve added a hat-trick, and Ray Chase scored the winning goal. Denis Loubert scored the only Warriors’ goal to spoil Frederik Mailhot-Landry’s shutout bid.
Baton Rouge 5 Collective 3 – After a tight game, Baton Rouge added an empty net goal to seal the 5-3 victory over the Collective. Mathieu Vaillancourt, Ray Chase, Matt Vautour, and Sly Villeneuve each scored for Baton Rouge. Also some Scott was credited with the 2nd goal for Baton Rouge, but they don’t have a Scott on their roster. Matt Vautour scored the empty net goal after Syl had the winner. Mike Moore scored a pair of goals for the Collective, while Rick Bartlett added a single.
Sasquatches 2 Flying Elbows 2 – The Flying Elbows got off to a good start with a 2-0 lead in their rematch with the Sasquatches, but had to settle for a 2-2 tie after a Sasquatches comeback. Brian Kelly and Justin McKillop scored the Flying Elbows goals. Sean Keenan got the Sasquatches on the board, then Marc Guitard scored the tying goal.
Flying Elbows 5 Shooters 0 – The Flying Elbows got off to a good start and cruised to a 5-0 win over the Shooters. Brandon Leet-MacFarlane led the way for the Flying Elbows with a shutout. Jamie Williams scored a pair of goals for the Flying Elbows, while Vince MacDonald, Tim O’Leary, and Brian Kelly added singles. Vince’s opening goal proved to be the winner.
Sasquatches 8 Barrage 2 – The Sasquatches built a 5-0 lead and cruised to an 8-2 win over the Barrage. Bobby Woods led the way for the Sasquatches with four goals, including a natural hat-trick which included the game winner, while Marc Guitard scored a pair of goals, and Darren Wilkins and Sean Keenan added singles. Wyatt Ashworth and Collin Sleep scored the Barrage goals.
Flying Elbows 7 Barrage 2 – The Flying Elbows went undefeated this week and secure 2nd place after cruising to a 7-2 win over the Barrage in their final game of the week. Justin McKillop led the way for the Flying Elbows with four goals, including the winning goal, while Tim O’Leary, Brian Kelly, and Jamie Williams added singles. Collin Sleep scored both Barrage goals.
Sasquatches 3 Shooters 2 – The Sasquatches won a close 3-2 game against the Shooters. Bobby Woods scored a pair of goals for the Sasquatches who took the early 2-0 lead, but Joel Thorne and Harold Plant tied the game. Then Marc Guitard scored his 2nd game winner of the season for the Sasquatches, who remain undefeated and in first place.
Shooters 5 Barrage 5 – The Barrage held a 4-2 lead well into the game, but the Shooters scored three quick goals to go ahead 5-4. The Barrage managed to fight back for the 5-5 tie. Mike Doucette led the way for the Shooters with a natural hat-trick, including the go ahead goal, while Joel Thorne and Harold Plant added singles. Wayne Helpard and Collin Sleep each scored a pair of goals for the Barrage, while Craig Maranda added a single.
After the first two weeks, Marc Guitard of the Sasquatches is the leading scorer with 19 points. Team-mate Bobby Woods leads the league with 10 goals, While Marc has the most assists with 11. Rick Kent of the Sasquatches leads all goalies with an impressive 1.67 GAA, including a shutout. Brandon Leet-MacFarlane of the Flying Elbows isn’t far behind with a 2.17 GAA and also has a shutout. Troy Doyle of the Flying Elbows led the first week’s scoring with 10 points, while Marc Guitard and Ray Chase led our 2nd week each with 10 points. Larry Condly has both winning goals for the Warriors and is tied for the lead in the new statistical category with Jim Taylor of the Collective and Marc Guitard of the Sasquatches. 84.1% of the league’s players played during the first two weeks. The Sasquatches have had the best turnout so far with 100%, while the Barrage’s 75% is the lowest. So participation is up this season but scoring is down.
