Draft day is upon us. Just a few hours left and I assume the captains are doing their final bits of scouting. I am. From a captain’s perspective, this draft may be tough. With about 25% of the players being new, to go along with a few familiar players stepping into captain’s roles, the scouting is tricky. Not much is known about half of the new guys, but the rookie game provided some much needed insight into the capabilities of some others. All in all, it should be an interesting draft. Especially, as it looks like the season will include 9 or 10 teams, although the committee is working diligently on some final details.
On behalf of the league, I’d like to thank the committee on the hard work they’ve been doing the past couple of days. My inbox on my email account can prove it. Thanks for the amazing job on registrations and deposit payments. Also, for the persistence in contacting players and reaching out to everyone and insuring all players had every opportunity to play and not just be forgotten.
It’s great to be back in Freddy. We had over 80 players register and pay their deposits, including a sufficient amount of goalies. It should be a great season and it all starts tonight as we work through our 9th draft.
I will be posting the teams and their players as soon as possible after the draft. Stay tuned.
